Linoma Releases New Version of
Surveyor/400
 Linoma Software is proud
to announce a major new release of Surveyor/400, the complete
graphical productivity suite for the iSeries and AS/400. Surveyor/400
now allows you to export to an Excel format, import Excel files
directly to an iSeries database file and the SQL Wizard was
enhanced to allow you to create even more SQL statements easily.
Adding the ability to export to an Excel format now allows
a user to choose virtually any format including CSV, Tab, fixed-width,
HTML, XML and a user defined delimiter. Importing an Excel
file directly to an iSeries database file will allow users
to work with data in Excel, save it and quickly import it in
a few simple steps.
When importing a PC file, the user has the option to import
to an existing database file or create a new iSeries database
file. When choosing to create a new file, the new version of
Surveyor/400 will scan the source file for the longest value
in each field and the type of data in the field and have the
Create Table Wizard default to the largest size and type.
The SQL Wizard now gives a user the option to create an INSERT,
UPDATE and DELETE statement for the user. Previously, it created
only SELECT statements. This feature will greatly aid a user
who is just learning SQL but wants to use the power SQL offers.
By simply selecting the file, fields and filter criteria in
a graphical interface, a user can create SQL statements without
needing any SQL experience.

Linoma Releases New Version of
Transfer Anywhere
Linoma Software is proud to an nounce a significant new release
of Transfer Anywhere, which is an enterprise solution for simplifying
and automating data conversions and transfers.
The new version 4.0 includes NT runtime support, better management
tools, enhanced error recovery and logging, faster transfer
speeds and enhancements to Open PGP encryption and decryption.
The Transfer Anywhere engine can now run on Microsoft NT server.
By supporting Transfer Anywhere on both the iSeries and NT
environments, the customer will have more flexibility in how
they implement the product.
A management console screen is now available in Transfer Anywhere,
which allows an administrator to view details on the currently
running transfers and also provides the option to cancel transfers.
When working with a transfer definition in Transfer Anywhere,
you can now view detailed completion history for a transfer
through a graphical interface. This history will show valuable
execution information including start and stop times, elapsed
time, execution status and any messages.
Encryption and Decryption of files can now be performed natively
on the iSeries without having to first create Transfer Definitions.
Encrypted files can be armored with a simple click of the checkbox
within the transfer wizard.
