This issue, we'd like to introduce you to the Chief Architect and Visionary of Linoma Software - Bob Luebbe. Prior to working at Linoma Software, Bob, a native of Nebraska (USA), spent 9 years working in corporate IT departments, mostly on the IBM midrange platform. Here are some of Bob's thoughts about the job, working at Linoma Software and his favorite pastime - music.
What are your job responsibilities? Helping to architect Linoma's products and managing our R&D efforts. Planning new features and releases. Performing product demonstrations and customer training. Consulting with customers on how to best implement our solutions.
What do you like most about working at Linoma? I really enjoy working with our customers and helping them to solve their challenges using our products. The people at Linoma are also great to work with. We work hard, but also find time to have good laughs and get to know each other personally.
What keeps you excited about your job? Our customers' excitement for our products. Towards the end of a product demonstration I gave to a customer the other day, they simply said "WOW!". It is very rewarding to build software that really makes a difference for our customers.
What do you like to do with your free time? Spend time with my family, camp, play guitar, fish and work on my acreage.
Something interesting or unusual about you: I am in a classic rock band called "Bob Who", where I play guitar, bass and harmonica (not all at the same time). Our band has been playing for about 3 years. We're too old to ever become famous, so I am planning to keep my day job, if they'll have me. See www.BobWhoBand.com.
IBM Systems Magazine recently wrote about the Bob Who band in their February issue. Read the article here.
