Upgrading from version 27xx to 29xx, is what is known as a major upgrade. This happens when the AS/400 portion of Surveyor and the portion on your workstation have both been changed.
Because the client and server version have to match, all users will need to upgrade at the same time. This particular major upgrade will have to be obtained from the download section . If you have multiple users it is recommended that you download the new version as opposed to doing the Web Install, so that the newly downloaded installer can be distributed to all users.
When you attempt to connect to the AS/400 once Surveyor is installed on the workstation, you will get an error message saying 'Client version 029 is higher that AS/400 version 027'. If you are a Surveyor Administrator or QSECOFR, it will ask you if you would like to upgrade the AS/400 now.
Once you upgrade the AS/400 to 29xx, all of the other workstations that have 27xx will get an error message saying 'Client version 027 is lower than AS/400 server version 029'. All workstations must be upgraded using the newly downloaded installer.
To install the AS/400 piece (i.e.: the server portion), you must have authority to DLTLICPGM, RSTLICPGM and the FTP server must be started. No one can be using Surveyor during the upgrade. |
