|When using the Update Server feature - Library Objects - a save file is transferred and restored via FTP . If the FTP fails the save file can be manually transferred
1. Create the save file on the iSeries using the iSeries command: CRTSAVF FILE(SURVEYOR/UPGRADE)
It's OK if it already exists.
2. With a Zip utility such as WinZip, open the 'upgrade.jar' file located in the 'lib' folder which is
in the directory where you installed Surveyor/400. The most common path is C:\Program Files\Linoma Software\Surveyor\lib.
Extract the file that begins with "upgrd" and ends with a '.savf' extension from 'upgrade.jar' into a
temporary directory. In this example, we'll use 'c:\temp' for the temporary directory
and 'upgrd03000003.savf' for the name of the save file.
3. Open a Command Prompt(DOS) window and type 'cd c:\temp'
In the same Command Prompt(DOS) window, use the 'ftp' command in Windows, to transfer 'upgrd03000003.savf' into save file UPGRADE in library SURVEYOR.
Be sure to use the 'bin' command to change to binary mode.
You may use the IP address or domain name of your iSeries with the FTP command.
Below is a sample FTP session. Sections in bold represent user input:

220-QTCP at ISERIES.
220 Connection will close if idle more than 5 minutes.
